Dear Derek.
I just had to drop you a line to say “Thank You” for playing the
pipes on Monday for my Mum's funeral at St. Cuthberts in Billingham.
Everyone has said since how moving and evocative the music was and
what an appropriate send - off for Joan who loved Scotland So Much.
The day was beautiful in every way, and I will always be grateful
for your part in it.
Kindest Regards.

Dear
Derek,
Thank
you from the bottom of our hearts, you were fantastic, You did
everything and more, than we expected, you brought a bit of Mums
homeland back to her.
It
was a very sad occasion for us but you made us proud, Proud we did
the right thing for Mum, Our Flower of Scotland.
Thank
you so Much.
Lynda
Hyde.
I had played at a
funeral at York Minster and one of the family stood up and said
these few words. I thought that it was a fabulous set of lines to
hear on a very dramatic day.
You can shed tears
that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your
eyes and pray that he'll come back, or you can open your eyes and
see all that he's left.
Your heart can be
empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love you
shared.
You can turn your
back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for
tomorrow because of yesterday.
you can remember him
and only that he's gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it
live on.
You can cry and close
your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would
have wanted, open your eyes, love and go on.
